In Praise of Klugman

Although this post makes good points, he forgets the secret of this show.

Jack Klugman.

It's that simple.

Double Blasphemy

According to this news item from the Sci-Fi Channel (who canceled Farscape, which had the Klugman-esque D'Argo), plans are afoot to remake a Klugman classic.

We would like to know the name of the individual who dares tamper with greatness - not just one of the greatest Twilight Zone episodes ever made, but one of Klugman's greatest performances.

Is there no depth to the ignorance of Hollywood executives.

(We realize that is an Orson Welles quote).

We only hope that Mr. Klugman either gets a cameo, and/or a huge amount of money.

No steak and bourbon for Hollywood. None whatsoever.

Six Degrees of Klugman

This is a game you can play when you are bored. Allegedly, you can trace any actor back to Kevin Bacon, who (to the best of our knowledge) is not made of bacon.

However, that seems rather lame, so we here at the Church of Klugman feel that, given Mr. Klugman's status as dramatic actor, comedic presence, and strong advocate, it is much better to play the Six Degrees of Klugman game. Any actor, taken at random, can be traced back to Klugman.

For example, Jonathon Frakes, aka "Commander Riker" on Star Trek: The Next Generation

Co-starred as a doctor on Quincy with our man, Jack Klugman

Meaning that 1) He is cool, 2) He has worked with our idol, and 3) he has one more Klugman point than Patrick Stewart.

(For more information about Quincy, click here)

Tom The Dog

We do not know if he is a real dog, but Tom the Dog is reviewing fall shows.

He forced himself to watch Freddie Prinze, Jr.'s new sitcom.

In short, we can summarize it best - no Klugman, no joy.

It's that simple.

The Church of Fell

We consider this to be a blasphemous site, but since many people confuse Mr. Fell with Mr. Klugman, that is probably to be expected.

Plus, it has a picture of Mr. Roper in a silly hat.

To Help Ease Your Confusion # 4

Here's another part of our educational series:

This is Jack Klugman, the object of our worship.

This is Gordon something-or-other, pop culture blogger,
and well-known tough guy.

This is Joe Don Baker, respected character actor.

If you have questions, please ask them in the comments.

Amongst Civilians

Never let it be said that Mr. Klugman is hungry for publicity - witness this brief blurb about how he uses anonymity.

That does not, however, take away from his accomplishments.

New Book

The Great One Has a new book out, as evidenced by his recent appearance at a publisher's fair.

We strongly encourage everyone to head to their local book store and purchase this book. The cover is attached alongside this post - we will not earn money off Mr. Klugman by doing an affiliate link. Support your local bookstore!

However, we would like to note that Mr. Klugman has done some of the writing, unlike a Canadian actor who bullied his name onto bad fan fiction. (And as we encourage all of our acolytes - just say no to fan fiction).

If you have a problem with this, we suggest you swallow it along with your Cookie Crisp cereal.

Thank you, and please feel free to comment and/or return. Especially our friends in Canada.
